Create/Edit a discount offer

The Discount Offer Form page is where you input or edit all details of each rule.

Step 1 - Basic

Fill your Discount Name or Discount Description for this discount rule. The Discount Description is optional so you can leave it blank.

Step 2 - Customer

Select who can get the discount.

  • Specific group of sign-in members, INCLUDING – add tags of the customers for whom you would like to provide this discount offer. Please use comma to separate your tags if there is more than 1 tag.

  • Specific group of sign-in members, EXCLUDING – add tags of the customers for whom you would NOT provide this discount offer. Please use comma to separate your tags if there is more than 1 tag.

Step 3 - Condition

SPECIFY SET OF PRODUCT, BUNDLE PRODUCTS, AND COLLECTION(S)...

The set(s) of product represents the collection(s)/product(s) that must be included in the cart to activate the promotion rule.

Optional: Click [+ Add a New Set] to start creating a new set

Note: No need to Add a New Set if you do not need this rule

  1. Click [Choose Products] to select Product(s) you would like to add in this set

  2. Click [Choose Collections] to select Collection(s) you would like to add in this set.

  3. Assign a number in “Minimum quantity to activate the discount”

  4. Click [+Add a New Set] to add another set of condition if needed

  5. When there is more than 1 set, you can decide if all sets are required or only 1 set is required to trigger this promotion. By default, “One of the Set(s) above must be in the cart to trigger the discount” will be applied. However, you can always choose another option.

To add more conditions about minimum money or quantity to get discount, click checkbox ADD MORE CONDITIONS

Spend Goal

  • Check this if you would like to provide this discount for customers who spend certain amount of money. The amount you fill in here will be the "spend goal” of this discount rule.

  • If you would like the spend goal to include ONLY the amount spent on the products/collections in the above set, check the “Total spending goal only include the cost of above selected specific set of product, bundle products, and collection(s)” option.

Note: If the above additional condition is not checked, the spend goal will calculate the total amount of the cart regardless of what product/collection is added to the cart.

Volume Goal

Check this if you would like to provide the discount for customers who buy certain quantity of products in the cart.

Step 4 - Offer

Set up the discount offer as Fixed amount or Percent off

  • Fixed amount discount – assign an amount here that will be directly deducted from the amount of a product

  • Percentage discount – assign the number here as the percentage for discount off calculated base on price of selected product

Offer Item

  • Select “Same sets of products above on Condition” if you would like to apply discount directly to the set of product in Step 3 – Condition

  • Select “Other sets of product” and see the expanded column. Choose the Products/Collections you would like the discount to apply to and assign a number in the column below.

  • Fill in the quantity that will get discount when added the product/collection you selected to the cart. For example, if you would like only 1 quantity to get the discount when adding 2 of them into the cart, fill in 1 in this field. (see Case1 for more details)

Total fixed amount discount: fixed money will be deducted to the whole bill if cart meets condition.

Total percentage amount discount: percentage for discount off calculated base on the whole bill if cart meets requirement.

Step 5 - Max Times of Discount

Set up Max Times of Discount as “Unlimited” or “Limited”

  • Unlimited – the discount will be kept applying to the product/collection you set in the Offer step. For example, If you set up “Buy A get B free”, you can get 5 free B when you buy 5 A.

  • Limited – the discount will only be applied for a certain number of times. When there are multiple conditions being met, the discount will be applied to the product based on this priority: priority values, then older products (created date) - > same price product - > higher price product

Assume that the customer purchases TWO Product A, TWO Product B and ONE Product C.

Buy Product A ($30/Create date: 2010) or Product B ($30/ Create date: 2021) or Product C ($50) will get 20% off

Scenario 1: ”Unlimited” times of discounts

All Product A, B and C apply the 20% discount off

Scenario 2: ”Limited” times of discounts ( Set up “3” as Max times )

  • Both two Product A applies the 1st and 2nd discount

  • Only the 1st Product B applies the 3rd discount and the 2nd Product B does not apply any discount

  • Product C does not apply this discount

Step 6 - Shipping Fee

Check this “Free Shipping” checkbox if this promotion rule offer free shipping

Step 7 - Period

Set up Start date / Start time & End date / End time as the effective period for your offer.

Note: the Time Zone will be based on the location of the current user. If another person in a different time zone sees this case, he/she will see the time based on his/her time zone.

Step 8 - Priority

In this section, you can set up the priority of this rule. If the current promotion rule is with higher priority, assign a higher value in the [Priority] column. When there are more than 1 rules applied to the same set products, prioritize or ignore the other rules, and decide if the final price.

  • WHEN THERE ARE OTHER ACTIVE PROMOTION RULES - whether you would like all the other rules with lower priority to trigger or not.

  • WHEN THERE ARE OTHER ACTIVE PROMOTION RULES APPLIED TO THE SAME SET OF PRODUCTS– when there are other rules “applied to the same set of product” as this rule, see whether you would like these rules with lower priority to trigger or not.

  • WHEN MULTIPLE RULES ARE ACTIVE AT THE SAME TIME, CALCULATE THE DISCOUNT BASED ON– whether you would like to apply this discount based on the original price of the product or the discount price of the product.

Assume that the customer purchases ONE Product A, which costs $30.

  • Discount 1 - Spend $20 get 10% off

  • Discount 2 - Buy Product A get 20% off

Scenario 1: Select “Percentage discount off is calculated based on ORIGINAL PRICE”

The total cost is $21 (= $30 - $30 x 10% - $30 x 20%)

Scenario 2: Select “Percentage discount off is calculated based on DISCOUNT PRICE”

The total cost is $21.6 (= $30 x (1-10%) x (1-20%)

Step 9 - Active

Set up status here as Active or Deactive. After that, click “Save” and your rule is complete. You can view them in the list page and edit them anytime in the future.
